Difficulties in understanding!
I have a friend who is interested in the Law of Attraction. She reads lots of books and attends seminars and has a rather superior air when speaking to people who she does not considered as as 'enlightened' as she thinks she is! Recently, while launching a new business venture, she asked me for some business networking and promotional support which I gave to her freely despite usually being paid for my professional services. I wished I had such received assistance of this quality when I was new to self employment! Some months later, I asked her for a small favour which was promptly and discourteously declined. When I drew attention to the many months of work I had offered to her when she was starting out, she explained that she had 'manifested' me - that is, she had attacted all the free assistance I gave to her and did not wish to attract someone who wanted a favour. I was shocked; I can say even appalled! It would appear that this New Thought philosophy, described as a 'law' does not include personal aspects of integrity and ethics but is more to do with using people without conscience?

Anger is a natural emotion which humans and animals feel for a number of reasons, such as a result of injustice. However, it is also very common when a threat is perceived - the fight or flight response, either run away or turn and fight the perceived opponent. Often these reactions are aggressive, and can make an already difficult situation even more difficult. There are many ways to deal with angry feelings. Often underneath the anger are feelings of grief and fear. If you are an angry person, relax and deal with the situation at a later time when you are not overwhelmed by what is happening. Learning a few simple steps can put an end to over-reacting.

Helplessness, anger, feelings of being out of control are common following emergencies. Depression can also follow, exhaustion and can compound the situation. Stressed minds only come to stressed conclusions. Get into nature, see friends and speak to them about your problems, seek professional advice and take it. Buold you own immunity to stress during quiet times, prepare for the worst but hope for the best. You can cope better, regardless of your experiences and difficulties.

Frederick Mathias A;exander (1869-1955) was an Australian therapist who showed how bad habit reflect on our health. (He spent some time in London UK where he treated actors to stand and move well, breathe properly, add to their energy and ability to perform to the best of their ability. Aldous Huxley was one of his patients. He also visited America and developed an international reputation.) When our body is subject to stress or habit, it develops 'body armouring' which can be relieved through exercises, self-awareness and repatterning. It has no side effects.

HSPs are often highly empathic and open to the needs of others, they have a keen sense of justice and are often highly intelligent.
They might be very sensitive to loud noises, intensity of light, changes in temperature, and the moods of other people. They might be a person who needs to chose their friends, their work and their environment carefully so as not to becomed overwhelmed.
They often like their own company, to be in the company of one other person and may find crowds are threatening to their sense of control. They are often shy, retiring or reclusive. They feel stress intensely, and might also find their energies quickly depleted.

There are many causes of low self esteem. It is a largely unrecognised condition that controls your life, reduces your enjoyment of life, causes you to not succeed in life, either in the work environment or in personal relationships. Especially, you might allow yourself to be badly treated by other people - or treat other people badly - and you might not be ambitious for yourself or your children. You might not realise just how low your self esteem is. Working to improve your self worth is something you can do for yourself.

The background: Having had a variety of occupations, I am now established as a therapist, healer, teacher, writer and translator, all of which have grown organically out of each other. My first incarnation was as a secretary many moons ago and as I became more competent in French I started translating. This led me to writing texts, proof-reading in English and finally to teaching English which I have done since 2003, holding a Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults. I am presently head of the English-language department at an evening school for people with limited budgets.
