What is New Age Spirituality?

New Age is a non-religious yet 'spiritual' movement that developed during the 1960's. It is believed New Age developed as a reaction against what some perceived as the failure of politics and religion to provide a safe and equal world view.

The movement draws from both Eastern and Western spiritual traditions, infusing them with influences from self-help, motivational psychology, holistic health with some parapsychology in order to create spiritual practises and philosophies without borders or confining dogmas. Unlike most formal religions, it has no holy text, central organization, membership, formal clergy, geographic centre, dogma or creed.
Another trait of the New Age movement is holding to a holistic view, believing that the Mind, Body and Spirit are interrelated. Its roots are traceable to many sources: Astrology, Channelling, Hinduism, Gnostic traditions, Spiritualism, Taoism, Theosophy, Wicca and Neo-pagan traditions, etc

Religious Hatred Can Be Ended by Dr Andrew Cort

Americans and Iraqis were killing each other in the Middle East. Several young men in Pakistan murdered their own sister yesterday because they decided her choice of a singing career was sinful. A man is on the run from the police in Connecticut after murdering a Wesleyan College student and threatening Jews and other people that he hates. Jews and Palestinians continue to kill each other in the Holy Land. A man in Brockton, MA, my home town, appeared in court today for his arraignment on a murder charge: while waiting in jail, he carved a swastika on his forehead in order to clarify whom he hates and thinks should die.

Yoga Is Skill In Action

The basis practice of yoga is self-inquiry which, through this process, we create change within ourselves. Before I started practicing yoga, I was more selfish and immature. The grass always seemed greener on the other side of the fence. Yoga changed my world perspective and philosophy in a way that has helped me live my life with more grace and integrity. I care for myself and others more deeply, my eating habits have become conscious choices and my friendships have evolved. I no longer spend time with people who are addicted to drinking and drugs, or those that spend their time gossiping about other people. I look for people who help me feel good about myself and those who are more happy and have goals in their life.

Hypnosis by Jim Francis

Most of us have a set of unique fears that relate to our own lives, like concerns about loved ones, financial worries and so on; but there are also many “universal” fears – or perhaps you might call them “collective” fears – that are communicated to us through our environment. These fears often relate to situations and events that leave us feeling vulnerable and defenseless, such as worldwide 'pandemics', 'terrorist' attacks, economic and financial crises, and so on.
